Mold inspections by Environmental Solutions Tampa Bay Area

Since the oil embargo and shortages of the 1970’s much demand has been placed upon the construction industry to build more energy efficient homes and buildings resulting in tighter and better insulated buildings or homes.  This new construction has resulted in the trapping in of the moisture and toxins in the homes and buildings creating in many cases major Indoor Air Quality problems.

Many of our present day building materials are especially susceptible to promoting mold growth and so our indoor environments can readily become incubators for all types of mold and mildew.  When you add a little more moisture and a cool place to hide, mold and mildew can take over any area very quickly.

Environmental Solutions uses the latest equipment and technologies to detect potential problem areas.  Mold needs a source of food, moisture, temperature and a place to grow.  Often times this is behind the walls or cabinets, caused by floods, leaky roofs, leaky or burst pipes, and ground seepage, just to mention a few ways.  We use Infrared Imaging as a non-invasive means to detect these hidden problems.

Once the problem has been correctly assessed, we will write an understandable and easy to follow protocol for the sanitization or remediation of the problem based on legitimate and accurate IAQ lab testing.

When you don’t have to live with Indoor Air Quality or Mold problems, why would you want to?

MOLD PREVENTION TIPS
  • Keep the humidity level in your home between 40% and 60%.
  • Use an air conditioner or a dehumidifier during humid months and in damp spaces, like basements.
  • Be sure your home has enough ventilation. Use exhaust fans which vent outside your home in the kitchen and bathroom. Make sure your clothes dryer vents outside your home.
  • Fix any leaks in your home’s roof, walls, or plumbing so mold does not have moisture to grow.
  • Clean up and dry out your home thoroughly and quickly (within 24–48 hours) after flooding.
  • Add mold inhibitors to paints before painting.
  • Clean bathrooms with mold-killing products.
  • Remove or replace carpets and upholstery that have been soaked and cannot be dried promptly. Consider not using carpet in rooms or areas like bathrooms or basements that may have a lot of moisture.
